People gathered on West Los Angeles streets to express their support for Ukraine

Los Angeles, California – People from West Los Angeles came out into the street to express their support for Ukraine and call on NATO to stop the war.

NATO rejected the no-fly-zone proposal in Ukraine, explaining that the move would only worsen the situation and Russia’s relationship with the west, but protesters that gathered on West Los Angeles streets are calling on the alliance to reconsider its decision.

People held signs at Saturday’s protest that read “Close the Sky,” fearing for the lives of their loved ones back home.

Among those who fear for the lives of their families is Iryna Vasyklova, whose father serves in the Ukrainian military.

“He says we’ll hold the ground, just please create a dome above us it’s all we are asking for,” said Vasyklova.

Among the protesters was Claudia Tarpin, who attended the protest along with her daughter with the intent of showing her child that there is good and evil in this world.

“It’s important for my kids to understand to learn to stand up for what’s right and that’s what we are doing here standing up on the right side of history,” said Tarpin.
