Long Beach resident died after a Seventh Street collision

Long Beach, California – Authorities said that a 61-year-old man from Long Beach who was hit by a vehicle last week near the Willmore neighborhood while riding his motorcycle succumbed to his injuries.

In the afternoon of Tuesday, March 8, officers were sent to the scene of an accident at the intersection of Seventh Street and Magnolia Avenue. The accident happened around 4 p.m. when a 2011 Hyundai Sonata made a left turn onto Magnolia Avenue from the second lane and collided with a motorcyclist who was driving in the first lane.

The motorcyclist was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment where he succumbed to his injuries a day later, but investigators working on the collision investigation were notified about his death on March 14th.

Police said that speeding, impaired or distracted driving are not believed to have played a role in the crash.
