Home fire in West Long Beach displaces one resident

Long Beach, California – One person was displaced Friday afternoon after a fire broke out at a West Long Beach residence, according to authorities.

Fire crews were sent to a report of a fire in a home located in the 3000 block of Gold Start Drive around 4 p.m. Upon their arrival, they saw light smoke coming from the home and discovered a kitchen fire.

Responding crews quickly put out the fire, but due to the damage caused by the smoke, one occupant of the home was displaced.

The Red Cross was also called to help the person who had to leave their home.There were no reported injuries as a result of the fire.

An investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
