Long Beach police looking for suspects responsible for fatally shooting a man Tuesday night

Long Beach, California – Long Beach police are looking for individuals responsible for fatally shooting a man on Tuesday night at a parking lot in Long Beach.

Officers from the Long Beach Police Department responded to a report of a shooting in the 4300 block of East Ocean Boulevard at approximately 10:30 p.m.

Upon arrival at the Belmont Shore neighborhood parking lot, officers discovered an unresponsive man with an apparent gunshot wound in his upper body.

Crews from the Long Beach Fire Department were also called to the scene and pronounced the victim dead.

Interviewed witnesses told authorities that at least four people in a white sedan started shooting at the victim and fled the scene. A description of the vehicle or the suspects was not released.

Authorities are asking residents in the area with information that might lead to the arrest of the people responsible for the incident to step forward.

Information about the motive for the shooting was not released.

The investigation is ongoing.
