Long Beach appoints a deputy city manager

Long Beach, California – The city of Long Beach made the announcement this week that Katy Nomura would succeed the current deputy city manager position.

According to the City Manager, Tom Modica, Nomura will take over the position which was previously held by Kevin Jackson, who resigned in February to accept a position in a suburb of Chicago.

Nomura last served as a deputy city manager for the city of Cupertino, where she worked for the last decade. In the statement regarding her appointment, it was mentioned she will work in Long Beach with the heads of the various departments to follow directions from the City Council.

In addition to holding a master’s degree in business administration, Nomura is now pursuing a second master’s degree at San Jose State University in public administration. She will take over the new job on June 20.
