Long Beach’s pilot program offers monthly income to residents

Long Beach, California – Some residents of Long Beach are eligible for an increase in their monthly income that is guaranteed to last for a whole year thanks to a new city initiative.

The city’s program is called Long Beach Pledge. It will provide $500 per month to each of 250 families with children who are headed by a single parent and live at or below the poverty level.

Participants in the program will also have access to additional support services, as well as counseling for their financial situations.

Residents in the areas that make up the 90813 ZIP code, which includes the lower Westside, Cambodia Town, and MacArthur Park, are the only ones who are eligible to submit an application for the first phase of this pilot program.
