People encouraged to submit applications for the ongoing guaranteed pilot program
Long Beach, California – On Friday, the city of Long Beach began accepting applications for the Long Beach Pledge, a guaranteed income pilot program that will provide $500 per month for a period of 12 months to a maximum of 250 families with children who meet the program’s eligibility requirements. About $2 million has been allocated for this program.
If you live in the 90813 ZIP code, a high-need region that spans a chunk of central, downtown, and southwest Long Beach, you have until January 17, 2023, to apply for assistance if your family income is less than 100 percent of the federal poverty line.
Officials from the city have said that households belonging to that particular ZIP code are among those who have been hit economically the worst as a direct consequence of the pandemic and the subsequent economic recession.
Visit longbeachpledge.org/apply in order to submit your application now that it is available online. Applicants who do not have access to a computer or smartphone are welcome to use a computer in a public lab that is available at any Long Beach Public Library location.
Families who do not meet the requirements may contact the city’s Resource Line at 562-570-4246 to get information about additional options that may be of assistance to them.
