Public’s help sought in locating missing woman with dementia

Long Beach, California – The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is asking for the public’s help in locating an elderly woman suffering from dementia who was reported missing.

Family members reported the 74-year-old, Melody Jean Hudgins, missing the last time she was seen in the 22000 block of Salmon Avenue in Long Beach around 6 p.m. on Saturday, according to Deputy Miguel Meza of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.

Hudgins is described as a white female, 5’6″ tall, weighing 146 pounds, with gray hair, hazel eyes, and wearing glasses. She was dressed in blue jeans, red shoes, a white sweater and had a green hat.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call the Missing Persons Unit of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department at 323-890-5500. Call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477 or make an anonymous tip online at lacrimestoppers.org.
