Group of teachers demonstrated for an increase in wages on Wednesday

Long Beach, California – On Wednesday evening, a group of teachers and classified employees demonstrated in front of the Long Beach Unified School District’s board meeting, seeking a contract that increases their wages.

Because of news that the California School Employees Association’s local chapter and the district had reached an agreement on a new contract earlier Wednesday, the planned rally was a little dampened.

There is still no agreement between the district and the Teachers Association of Long Beach on a new contract, with compensation being the most difficult issue to be resolved.
