Long Beach, California – Authorities are still investigating an incident where a man was hospitalized with gunshot wounds but refused to cooperate with the police and provide them with information about the shooting and reveal the location where the crime took place.
At around 7:40 p.m., police were called to the 400 block of West 9th Street, which is located in an industrial part of lower West Long Beach. When they arrived, they discovered a man who had suffered several gunshot wounds to the upper body.
Responding officers said the man refused to provide them with information when questioned about details regarding the matter, and only said he was shot while walking in an “unknown location”.
Crews from the Long Beach Fire Department were also summoned to the scene where the man was located by officers, and upon arrival, they took him to a hospital for treatment.
Hospital officials said the man suffered injuries that were not considered life-threatening and that the patient is expected to recover soon.
Law enforcement’s efforts to find the crime scene turned out to be unsuccessful since they were unable to determine where the man was shot in the first place.
Information on possible suspects was not revealed.
The incident remains under investigation.
