Father fatally shot, son injured in Long Beach incident on Father’s Day
Long Beach, California – Long Beach police reported that a man was killed inside of his vehicle on Father’s Day in front of the eyes of his little son.
The individual responsible for the shooting has not been arrested, and the authorities are now working to identify that person and determine their motive.
An investigation is ongoing to determine whether the incident that occurred on Anaheim Street between Ximeno and Roswell was a road rage incident or a homicide.
According to the police report, the 7-year-old son of the victim called 911 from a nearby restaurant shortly before 9 p.m. on Sunday.
The victim traveled all the way from the high desert to Long Beach to spend time with his family on Father’s Day. Members of the family identified the victim as Leevi Matuni Maseuli, 30, of Palmdale.
According to the authorities, the 7-year-old boy was also hurt but was not struck by gunfire during the incident.
Additional details were not made public.
The investigation is still going on, and officials are hoping that some of the security cameras in the area may have recorded the incident.
