Public’s help needed in locating a suspect in connection with a sexual assault

Los Angeles, California – Los Angeles police appealed to the public on Tuesday, asking for assistance in locating a man accused of sexually assaulting a woman in the Baldwin Hills-Crenshaw area.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the alleged incident took place on June 20 at 4:30 p.m. in the area of Somerset Drive and Coliseum Street.

Police said the victim informed them she was followed by the suspect from the Metro Expo-Crenshaw Station, who pushed her into bushes and took advantage of her sexually.

According to a statement released by the Los Angeles Police Department, “the victim repeatedly yelled for help, at which point a bicyclist passing by observed the attack and called the police. The suspect then fled on foot northbound on Somerset Drive.”

Authorities shared a surveillance photo of the suspect, describing him as 6’ 2″ tall, weighing around 200 pounds, and being said to be between 20 and 30 years old.

A clothing description was also provided, saying he was dressed all in black, with a black beanie covering his head, a black T-shirt over a white T-shirt that was worn as an undershirt, black shorts, white socks, and black shoes.
