Long Beach, California – The Long Beach Police Department was kept busy during the Independence Day weekend since they responded to several incidents in the city.

The first incident was reported to have occurred on Sunday in Long Beach, where a teenage girl sustained gunshot wounds to her upper and lower torso.

Officers from the Long Beach Police Department were sent at approximately 11:45 a.m. to the 1400 block of Magnolia Avenue in response to a call about a shooting.

After arriving at the scene, they found a 16-year-old girl suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. She was transported for treatment to a hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

Evidence was gathered from the crime scene.

Information about a possible suspect or motive in the shooting was not made public.

The second incident that required the response of law enforcement occurred also on Sunday around 7:23 p.m. In this incident, a man was stabbed following an argument in Central Long Beach.

The stabbing took place at 14th Street Park near Pacific Avenue and West 14th Street. Responding officers discovered a man nearby the crime scene who was trying to get to a hospital to seek medical attention.

Officers then transported the man to the hospital where he received treatment for non-life-threatening stab wounds.

Additional information was not released.

The third incident occurred early Monday morning, when a man was shot in Central Long Beach.

Authorities received a report shortly after midnight, around 12:10 a.m., regarding a shooting on W. 17th Street and Chestnut Avenue.

Officers were sent to the scene, where they found a man who had been shot several times in the lower body.

Since the victim’s injuries were not life-threatening, Long Beach Police Department officers provided first aid until crews from the Long Beach Fire Department arrived.

The findings of the initial investigation indicate the man was shot by an unidentified suspect as he was riding his bicycle.

At this point, neither the identity of the suspect nor the motive for the shooting have been established by the authorities.

Investigations into all three incidents are underway.
