Police arrested a man suspected of killing an elderly woman in El Monte

El Monte, California – Authorities announced they had arrested a man in connection with the death of an 89-year-old woman in El Monte early Wednesday morning.

According to Deputy Tracy Koerner of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau, upon the arrival of the police at the 11300 block of Cedar Circle, they located a female victim suffering from what appeared to be blunt force trauma to her body.

The woman was taken to a hospital where she succumbed to her injuries shortly.

A 31-year-old man was identified as a potential suspect, and he was apprehended and charged with murder in the case. He’s the woman’s grandchild.
