Overturned semi truck caused closure on Golden State Freeway
Los Angeles County, California – The Golden State (5) Freeway in Sylmar was closed for approximately two hours after a semi truck overturned on the road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred just before 3 p.m. Wednesday on the overpass connecting the southbound side of the highway to the northbound Antelope Valley (14) Freeway.
A few cars on the Golden State Freeway below were damaged by concrete pieces that flew off as a result of the accident.
It is unknown whether there were people hospitalized following the accident. For almost two hours, traffic was redirected onto the southbound and northbound truck lanes for almost two hours as officials investigated the accident and cleared the area.
