Two Californians strike it rich in Powerball lottery drawings
The California Lottery announced on Thursday that two people from California have won over a million dollars each in the Powerball lottery.
The winning tickets were sold last year in early November. Ariana Rosas won $1,044,212 after purchasing her ticket at Eastland Food Market in Ontario, while Steve Bisset won $1,120,390 at Susanville Supermarket in Susanville.
Last November, we also saw Edwin Castro win a record-setting $2.04 billion Powerball jackpot after buying his ticket in Altadena.
On Saturday, there will be another Powerball drawing, and the estimated jackpot is $119 million. While the chances of winning are slim, the thrill of a possible big win continues to draw many hopefuls to purchase lottery tickets.
