Police looking for a 48-year-old missing man with a developmental disability

Long Beach, California – An appeal was made to the public by the Long Beach police for assistance in locating a man with a developmental disability who was said to have escaped from a care facility.

According to the Long Beach Police Department, 48-year-old David Quiroz was last seen by an employee at the care facility in the 1000 block of Walnut Avenue in Central Long Beach at around 6:45 a.m.

According to authorities, he departed on foot and loved visiting convenience shops in the area. He is suffering from medical conditions that may cause him to become lost or to behave like a child with temper tantrums, and he may also look aggressive.

Police provided a description of Quiroz, saying he is a Hispanic male standing 5’ 10″ tall, weighing around 210 pounds, and has brown eyes and black hair. Authorities also said he was dressed in dark blue jeans shorts, a burgundy hooded sweater, and sandals with a mixed-colored flower print the last time he was seen.

This is not the first time that Quiroz has left the care facility, and the previous time he went missing, he was located in the Long Beach area.

Anyone with information on Quiroz’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Missing Persons Detail at 562-570-7246 or police dispatch at 562-435-6711.
