Long Beach police investigating a shooting that sent one to hospital
Long Beach, California – Long Beach police officers were dispatched to a report of a man shot near Scherer Park in the 200 block of East 47th Street around 10:14 p.m.
Responding officers found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his body, according to LBPD.
The initial investigation showed that the man was wounded by an unknown number of suspects who approached him while standing outside the residential area.
The man was transported to a local hospital by firefighters for treatment of his injuries. The latest information indicates that the man is expected to recover.
Detectives at the scene gathered evidence, including bullet casings.
Police mentioned that this incident might be linked to a crash involving a white sedan that happened near by, but it hasn’t been officially confirmed.
“The suspect is outstanding and the incident is being investigated by gang detectives,” Long Beach police Lt. Paul Gallo said.
