70-year-old school bus driver is accused of taking 139 ‘upskirt’ photos of unsuspecting pre-teen and teen female students when they entered or exited the school bus, videos found on his phone

The local community and the parents of students were left completely devastated few days ago after it was discovered that a school bus driver has been taking ‘upskirt’ photos of unsuspecting female teenage students when they entered or exited the school bus. The 70-year-old suspect has since been fired from the school district and was charged with over 500 different crimes involving 8 female students.

The incident that was reported few days ago by several local news outlets before it was reported by several of the major news national outlets gaining a lot of media attention nationwide, was initially reported to the authorities on May 17. The report was enough for the local police to obtain a search warrant for the bus driver’s phone. When the forensic analysis of the bus driver’s phone was completed, an arrest warrant was approved for the driver and he has been arrested.

According to WPVI, the 70-year-old school bus driver has been identified as B. Garner and he has been part of the MNSD in Pennsylvania until the incident was publicly revealed. Per the local authorities, Garner was charged with 139 counts of invasion of privacy, accused of taking photos and videos of unsuspecting female teenage students when they entered or exited the school bus.

“The unspeakable actions of B. Garner were an invasion of the teenage victims’ privacy and an attack on their innocence,” Police Chief D. Montella said in a statement obtained by The NY Post. “As a result of the interview and other information provided, it was apparent that the school bus driver was engaged in an illicit act known as ‘upskirting,’” Montella added.

Per the authorities’ claims, Garner’s victims were teen and pre-teen girls. The authorities added that Garner befriended the girls and would have conversations with them. It was only when a few of the girls noticed he was holding his phone at his side as they got on and off the bus that they told their parents, the county’s District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer said. The parents immediately told the school district and the police, and the investigation began. Stollsteimer said Garner was “grooming” his victims.

In addition to 139 counts of invasion of privacy, Garner was charged with 139 counts of unlawful contact with a minor, 139 counts of criminal use of communication facility, 139 counts of s**ual abuse of children, as well as endangering the welfare of children and possessing an instrument of crime. Police said they found videos for each of the counts in Garner’s phone.

As of now, there are no evidence that suggest the driver had physical contact with any of the victims.

In an effort to properly inform the public and parents of children, the school district issued a statement in which they didn’t name Garner, but confirmed that the unnamed school bus driver is no longer employed by the district, and will not be permitted on school grounds. In addition, the district said they are fully cooperating with the local authorities as the investigation is still ongoing.

Garner’s attorney also released a statement:

“Garner wants to apologize to the students, their parents and the school district. He understands the seriousness of these allegations, and the trust he violated. He is entering mental health treatment on his own accord. He is a 70 year old father and husband who has never been in any trouble. He is remorseful for his actions and committed to proving that he is worthy of redemption.”
