Long Beach police responded to an assault with a deadly weapon after a woman was shot while inside her home

Long Beach, California – According to reports from the Long Beach Police Department, on Tuesday night, a woman suffered gunshot injuries while inside her house in the Wrigley area. She was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Officers were sent to the scene regarding an assault with a deadly weapon that took place in the 2200 block of Locust Avenue at about 8:46. According to authorities, a preliminary investigation showed the woman was shot from an undetermined direction while inside her home. Police couldn’t figure out if the shots came from inside or outside the property at the time.

Officers found the victim suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Crews from the Long Beach Fire Department took the woman to a hospital for treatment.

At this moment, neither information about a suspect nor a possible motive has been revealed.

The investigation is still underway.
