Police still investigating the 24th homicide this year in Long Beach where a man succumbed to his injuries after being transported to a hospital

Long Beach, California – Long Beach recorded the 24th murder in 2022 after a man was fatally shot near the Los Angeles River and Pacific Coast Highway on Tuesday night.

According to the Long Beach Police Department, officers were sent to the scene regarding a shooting in the area that took place at approximately 8:26 p.m.

Responding officers, upon arrival, found a man who had been shot in the lower torso. They rendered aid to the victim while waiting for the crews from the Long Beach Fire Department to arrive. LBFD took the man to a hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The name of the victim has not been revealed.

The investigation is still underway, and authorities have not yet determined who the suspect is or the motive for the shooting.
