Man suspected of shooting arrested after barricading himself in a vehicle

Long Beach, California – After allegedly shooting at someone and then barricading himself inside a vehicle in the Washington area on Monday night, police say they were able to arrest a 43-year-old man.

The shooting occurred around 10 p.m., and the victim fled the scene before police arrived. The Long Beach Police Department said officers conducted a brief investigation and discovered the suspect was hiding near the crime scene. He had barricaded himself inside a motorhome near Locust Avenue and 15th Street.

Prior to the arrival of Long Beach SWAT teams to the scene, the suspect turned himself in without any further incident. He has been identified as Josh Daniel Dinkins.

According to the Long Beach Police Department, Dinkins was taken into custody on several charges, including felony assault and being a prohibited person in possession of body armor. He is being held on $100,000 bail.

The incident is still under investigation.
