Long Beach police looking for driver in fatal hit-and-run crash
Long Beach, California – Long Beach police are looking for a driver in a fatal hit-and-run crash in the Zaferia neighborhood that left a pedestrian dead on Thursday night.
The pedestrian was crossing Pacific Coast Highway in an undesignated area for pedestrians when a black Chevrolet SUV struck him and fled the scene. The identity of the victim will be released after authorities inform his family.
The vehicle was last seen driving westbound on PCH following the crash.
Officers were sent to the collision site and found the man lying in the middle of the street. He was transported to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
