Police investigating two shooting incidents near a movie set in LA that left one dead and one injured

Los Angeles, California – LAPS is looking into two shooting incidents that occurred late Thursday night in the downtown area of Los Angeles and left one man dead and another injured.

Authorities said the first incident took place near a movie set in the 1900 block of Bay Street. The incident was reported by an off-duty LAPD officer who heard gunshots being fired while working on the set of a movie that was being filmed about one block away and immediately called 911.

Responding officers found a man in his 30s upon arriving at the scene. He was declared dead at the scene.

According to the initial investigation conducted by police, the incident had nothing to do with the production of the movie, and cast or staff members were not involved.

The second shooting incident took place a few blocks away from the first crime scene and left a man suffering from what were said to be non-life-threatening injuries to his leg. The man was transported to a hospital for treatment.

Authorities neither released information on whether these two incidents were connected nor provided information on possible suspects.
