Long Beach Police seek public assistance in search for 94-year-old at-risk missing woman last seen near East Ocean Boulevard
Long Beach, California – The Long Beach Police Department is asking residents to help locate 94-year-old Sofia Alvarado, who has been reported as an at-risk missing person after disappearing earlier this week.
According to police, Alvarado was last seen on July 21, 2026, at approximately 11:00 a.m. in the 300 block of East Ocean Boulevard in Long Beach. Investigators said she was traveling on foot when she was last seen and does not have a cellular phone or any other device that could help authorities track her location.
Police are especially concerned for her safety because she has a mental condition that may cause her to become disoriented, increasing the urgency of the search.
Police urge anyone with information to come forward
Authorities described Alvarado as a 94-year-old Hispanic woman with gray hair and brown eyes. She is approximately 5 feet tall and weighs about 120 pounds.
At the time she disappeared, she was wearing a burgundy jacket, green pants, and red boots. Police said she was not known to be wearing any jewelry and does not have any identifying scars, marks, or tattoos.
Investigators emphasized that her medical condition places her in a vulnerable situation, making it important for anyone who may have seen her or knows where she might be to contact law enforcement immediately.
The Long Beach Police Department is encouraging community members to remain alert and report any possible sightings as officers continue searching for the missing woman.
