$50,000 reward offered by LAPD for information about beating death of man in Chinatown area
Los Angeles, California – The Los Angeles Police Department offered a $50,000 reward for any information that might lead them to arrest a suspect or suspects responsible for beating to death a 59-year-old man in the Chinatown area.
Reports of battery drew officers to the 900 block of Centennial Street on September 3rd, around 9:35 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered that Michael Lam had been taken to a hospital for treatment of blunt force trauma, where he later died.
The investigation showed that the victim was a property manager at the location where the crime took place and was probably involved in an argument with someone in front of the apartment complex. No other information was immediately available.
