Authorities looking for man suspected of raping a minor girl

Bell Gardens, California – Bell Gardens police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a man suspected of abducting and raping a minor girl at knifepoint last week.

Authorities did not reveal the location where the alleged rape occurred and only said the 14-year-old girl was abducted and raped early Thursday morning.

The girl informed police that she had been coerced into a garage by the suspect. Following an investigation, police identified the suspect as Bell Gardens transient Robert Nunez.

It was Nunez who raped the girl at knifepoint after she was tied by another suspect, identified as 41-year-old Jaomir Perez. Police arrested Perez later on Thursday afternoon.

According to the sheriff’s inmate records, Perez was being held at the Inmate Reception Center on $50,000 bail.

Police provided a description of Nunez, saying he is a Hispanic male, standing 5’7″ tall, weighing around 150 pounds, and has brown eyes, brown hair, and a dark complexion.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call 911 or contact Lt. Dano Neslen at (562) 806-7637. Authorities are also advising people not to approach him if they see him, as he is considered armed and dangerous.
