Long Beach man arrested after being found in possession of drugs and weapons
Long Beach, California – A Long Beach man was arrested by authorities early Tuesday morning after being found in possession of drugs and weapons.
A narcotics investigation was conducted, which led Long Beach officers and agents from the Los Angeles Field Office of the Drug Enforcement Agency to cooperate and serve a search warrant at around 3:00 a.m. at a home near the 2300 block of East 15th Street.
The search at the location resulted in the discovery and seizure of two weapons and a significant amount of illegal narcotics. The owner of the home, 47-year-old Javier Rodriguez, was arrested by officers.
Rodriguez was charged with one count of possession of a felon in possession of a firearm, one count of possession of an assault weapon, one count of prohibited possession of ammunition and one count of possession of a controlled substance for sale.
Rodriguez is now in custody on $500,000 bail.
The investigation remains open.
