Three people injured, one killed in a multi-vehicle crash in Los Alamitos

Los Alamitos, California – A multi-vehicle crash on Thursday in Los Alamitos left three people injured and one man and a dog killed.

According to the Los Alamitos Police Department, eight vehicles crashed at 6:15 p.m. Thursday near Los Alamitos Medical Center, in the area of Katella Avenue and Los Alamitos Boulevard.

The man and the dog who were killed in the accident were traveling in the same vehicle. Medics pronounced them dead at the scene. The identity of the man will not be revealed until his next of kin is notified.

According to authorities, two more individuals were extricated from their vehicles following the crash and were transported to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries. Information about their conditions was not released.

A third person also sustained injuries as a result of the crash and was treated at the scene. They refused to be taken to the hospital for further treatment.

An investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing.
